3 km from the "Bouteille à la mer" house, visit the construction of a 1st rank ship from the 17th century

The Tourville Association is carrying out the largest project to reconstruct France's historical maritime heritage with the construction, on a life-size scale, of a 17th century first-rate ship, the "Jean-Bart", within a historical and leisure park dedicated to privateers and the navy of Louis XIV in Gravelines (Nord). The approach is in the same vein as the Hermione-La Fayette Association in Rochefort, which has embarked on the adventure of reconstructing the Hermione frigate, a ship which, 80 years after the last 58-gun ship offered to Jean Bart by Louis XIV, the Fendant in Dunkirk harbor, enabled La Fayette to join the American insurgents fighting for their independence.
