Maritime life and daily life from the past have given way to today's professions, and several exhibition and reconstruction sites allow visitors to appreciate the challenges of each era.
The house of the sea At Grand Fort Philippe is a museum that traces the maritime history and the memory of fishing in Iceland.
The Rescue House, for its part, traces the history of sea rescuers.
The Petit-Fort-Philippe fire (also called "Gravelines lighthouse") was lit in 1843. Its construction was part of the major coastal lighting program of 1825. Damaged during the Second World War, the lighthouse was restored in 1949 but is no longer in service.
